DEX: Transmitting Sales Transaction Data from Salesperson to Retailer

DEX is shorthand for Direct EXchange/Uniform Communication Standard (DEX/UCS). Common transaction files including invoices are defined by the UCC for transmission from handheld computers to retailers computer systems. This provides a standard (including product UPC codes) that trading partners (wholesalers and retailers) rely on to exchange sales data without error and duplication of effort.
