Ready for Business
Entry-level Windows Embedded devices from Intermec and Motorola provide budget-friendly options for wholesale distributors. Priced from about $500 for the ES400 to around $1,000 for the Intermec CS40, these devices are smaller and much more rugged than consumer-grade smart phones. These units have smaller keys and smaller screens and are more portable with a "smartphone" form factor. The ES400 includes an imager designed for occasional scanning while the CS40 has a powerful imager for constant use. Intermec has an interesting video describing the CS40 for mobile field professionals.
